will be diagnosed with cancer by the
age of 85. This also impacts the lives of
loved ones and carers supporting those
who are suffering.
Relay 4 Life is a fun and moving overnight
celebration of cancer survivorship,
sending a message of hope that people
DO survive cancer. Over 200 community
Relay 4 Life events occur around Australia
each year to raise vital funds for research
to find a cure.

The first lap of the relay honours
cancer survivors and carers who take
to the track, proudly wearing sashes,
applauded by all for their strength and
courage. With motivation levels high, all
relay participants
join in and walk
the second lap
then
continue
throughout the
night until 8am
the
following
morning.
The 41 teams at
Tweed
Valley
2015 had been
fundraising leading up to the event held at
Kingscliff on March 7 with the goal to raise
$86,000 this year. These vital funds are for
the Cancer Council’s research, prevention,
information and support services.
