If there is one tool that I use on a regular
basis, that would have to be a great
little utility program called CCleaner.
It’s an optimisation and cleaning tool,
and is the number-one tool for cleaning
your Mac computer or Windows PC. It
can protect your privacy online and
can make your computer faster and
more secure. If you’re concerned about
people with access to your computer
who could be snooping on your
browsing habits, CCleaner can remove
these tracks.
CCleaner has two important features. 1.
It scans your computer for and deletes
useless files, freeing up space. 2. It erases
private data like your browsing history
and list of your most recently opened
files in various programs.
Expanding on these points further; it
frees up disk space by deleting junk files,
temporary files and wipes out private
usage data. For example, CCleaner
will erase your browser history, cookies,
and cache files for any browsers you
have installed — Internet Explorer,
Firefox, Chrome, even Opera. It will go
beyond that, erasing the cookie data
stored by the Adobe Flash Player. It will
even remove other potential privacybreaching information, such as the list of
