Students get the
Blues
Digital Media
students from
Murwillumbah
TAFE wore their
PRESS passes
with pride, as
they blended
in with the vibrant and creative melange
of people that made up this year’s Byron
Bay Blue’s Festival.
“This was an amazing opportunity for our
students to gain real-world experience
of preparing for and initiating a live
film shoot with recorded interview of
headlining artists, patrons, Bluesfest crew
and volunteers,” says Ms West, from
Murwillumbah TAFE Teaching and Learner
Service.
As part of their Certificate IV and Diploma
studies in Digital Media students are
required to film, edit, organise and present
for various media platforms such as web
pages, YouTube and social media.
The footage captured will be used in
a number of different projects which
include; producing an advertisement for
Bluesfest 2016, and a short documentary
which focuses on this year’s winner of the
Bluesfest Busking competition, which will
record their rise from busking on the street
to one of the main stage acts at next
Richardson.
Ms West says this was indeed an event
and opportunity that will hold these
students in good stead for a successful
career in Digital Media Industry.
