long have you
been a local?
I have lived in
Tweed Heads all
of my life except for a period of 5
yerars when my family moved to
Brisbane when I was a teenager
What is the Adrian Itong story?
I am happily married to my wife
Susan, we have three children, 1
son and two daughters, they have
blessed us with six grandchildren,
four boys & two girls & a grandson
due in September . We foster 2 girls
aged 2 and 3, which we love doing.
My wife and I are assistant pastors
at Ganggalah Church where we
have attended for 12 years, as
an indigenous man, family is very
important to me and giving back
to our community is a priority and a
privilege for me
I love my family, my life, my church,
the community in which we live .
What is the best thing that has ever
happened to you?
The best thing that has ever
happened to me is becoming a
Christian in1993 .
What is the worst thing that has ever
happened to you?
The worst thing that has ever
happened to me is being
separated from my family for four
years .
What do you feel the most guilty
about?
The one thing I feel guilty about is
hurting the ones I love.
Who has been the biggest influence
in your life?
The biggest influence in my life is my
wife Susan, she makes me want to
be a better person.
What was the saddest moment in
your life?
My saddest moment was not
knowing if my eldest daughter was
alive or not, at the time of the Bali
bombing. ( she was fine.)
What was the catalyst to a major
change in your life?
Becoming a tradesman & starting
my own business was a big change
in my life
What do you like to do when you are
not painting?
When I’m not painting I like surfing,
diving, boating and just going to the
beach with friends & my family .
How do you recharge your batteries?
I recharge my batteries by riding
my motor bike through the beautiful
tweed valley cane fields, tweed
river, mountain ranges and rain
forest
