Sharing Advice
New Teachers Discuss Their Experiences
Recent graduates of the UK College of Education returned to campus last semester to provide advice to students preparing to begin their own teaching careers . The graduates , who were all in their first or second year of teaching , held a panel discussion for a group of current student teachers .
The teachers shared that college had prepared them to hit the ground running , but there are always little things for which a new teacher can never be fully prepared , noted Joni Meade , a clinical faculty member who coordinates elementary student teaching .
