UK Tackles Cancer
In October , the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion collaborated with the Johnson Center to promote healthy living through “ UK Tackles Cancer ” week , in partnership with the American Cancer Society . Representatives from the cancer society , UK Wellness Ambassadors , and UK ’ s Tobacco-free Take Action group set up informative and interactive booths at the Johnson Center .
Those stopping by were encouraged to learn more about cancer prevention and healthy living and to support breast cancer awareness . A photo booth highlighted the # pauseforpink theme . In addition , Campus Recreation hosted # pauseforpink Zumba and cycling classes . Students enrolled in KHP 590 ( Advanced Health Concepts ) helped with the event and created # pauseforpink videos to share on social media .
