Wright Bogart , R e s i d e n t o f t h e M o n t h

Wright was born May 19 , 1942 , in Mansfield , Mo ., to Hosea and Bernice Bogart . He has one older brother , Wiley , who is now deceased .
Wright enjoyed playing baseball when he was in school and continued playing on into college . His first car was a two-door 1954 Chevy . It was blue , which is his favorite color . He enjoyed taking it to the drive-in movies . After graduating high school , he attended Southwest Baptist College , graduating with an associate in arts degree . Wright was drafted into the Army , where he served our country as a military policeman for two years in New Mexico . He remembers a buddy of his from Chicago who could speak Spanish , which kept him out of a lot of trouble . Wright and his buddies would have contests to see who could collect the most rattle snake rattlers ; he collected 13 . He said there wasn ’ t much in New Mexico but sand , rattle snakes and huge desert tarantulas , which he would either run over with his car or smash with bricks . His base was located next to the White Sands Trinity Site where the world ’ s first nuclear device was detonated on July 16 , 1945 . Wright said the original bunkers and other buildings are still there . It ’ s now a tourist attraction . After he was discharged from the Army , he attended Drury University , graduating with a bachelor ’ s degree in economics . Wight has worked for the Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Manufacturing Co ., the Se-Ma-No Electric Cooperative , and managed three funeral homes and a chicken hatchery , all in Mansfield , Mo .
Wright and his former wife have two wonderful daughters , Melissa and Rhonda , five grandchildren , and one great-grandchild .
Wright has been a part of the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility family
since June 2014 . He enjoys attending resident council where he served as vicepresident last year and is now serving as this year ’ s president . Wright loves a good cheeseburger , vanilla milkshakes , and putting models together . He has assembled hundreds of models including Captain Morgan ’ s lost ship . Of course , his favorite model was a 1954 Chevy . He even entered our December talent contest with his model-making skills . Wright enjoys getting to know more about our other residents so he can serve them better as the resident council president . Congratulations , Wright , on being chosen the Resident of the Month .
