Busch is also represented by Wilhelmina Models, one of the most prominent talent agencies worldwide. Initially, modeling was not something Busch pictured herself doing, but Polo drew her towards the industry, especially since it gave her the opportunity to stand as a role model for women. As the global brand ambassador of the USPA, Busch has been featured in several global campaigns, including their 125th anniversary campaign. Another passion of Busch’s is fashion design and swimwear, which she used to collect. Her interest in swimwear fuels her latest project. In Spring 2018, she will launch her new “beachy chic” collection, that will begin selling swimwear and later plans on expanding to other beach apparel. Due to Busch’s interest in philanthropy, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to various causes she is passionate about. Do you recall hearing her last name before? Ashley Busch is married to professional NASCAR driver Kurt Busch. We talked with her about all of this and more. BY NICOLETTE MURO you cannot let fear stop you from pursuing your passions. Cliché: What inspired you to begin playing polo? Ashley Busch: I have always had a love for horses and grew up riding. When I tried polo for the first time at age eleven, I fell in love right away. I had always had a competitive side to me and combining a competitive sport that involves team members, lots of speed and horses is incredible. How has polo shaped your modeling career and your lifestyle? As a polo player, I never had an interest in becoming a model.
