GLASS&SEALEDUNITS NEW Interbar & Fittings to complement Thermobar Warm Edge Spacer Thermoseal Group has released a new range of internal spacer bar and fittings in sizes 11.5mmx18mm and 15.5mmx18mm that will allow customers to simulate traditional multipane Georgian windows with Thermobar. By creating a grid of Thermobar Interbar (sometimes referred to as Muntin bar), sealing it within a unit and then attaching a Georgian Surface Mount bar to the outside of the unit, customers will be able to create the appearance of a multi-paned window. Thermobar Interbar has been developed using similar technology to Thermoseal Group’s Warm Edge products, consequently the Interbar offers a superior thermal efficiency than traditional aluminium Interbar systems. Interbar fittings have also been developed alongside the new Interbar profile in order to achieve a seamless fit while ensuring that the colours match perfectly. The adjoining centre keys (cruciform) and edge keys have been reinforced with stabilising bars to optimise the rigidity of the unit. The bespoke centre keys also come with the option of round buffers to eliminate the chance of rattle within the unit. Guardian Glass UK has launched ClimaGuard DS, an advanced soft coat Low E glass with similar durability and performance to alternative hard coat Low E options. Historically, hard coat Low E glass has been known to have a slight brown colour distortion with an element of haze when viewed from particular angles, as the sun’s light catches the coated surface. Guardian’s new ClimaGuard DS is an offline, magnetron sputter-coated Low E glass, which offers similar attributes to its hard coat Low E rival, without the brown colour distortion or issue relating to haze. Unlike other soft coat Low E glass options, it doesn’t require edge deletion and has a far more robust coating, allowing it to be processed and manufactured like hard coat glass. It uses advanced magnetron glass coating technology to achieve a low 1.3 centre pane U value in a common Argon filled 28mm unit. Combined with a high g value (solar heat gain), ClimaGuard DS offers similar performance in WERs to other hard coat Low E glass options, easily achieving a WER band C for Building Regulation Document L compliance. www.guardianglass.co.uk/latestproducts New Sizes of Bespoke Gas Keys for Triple Glazing with Thermobar Warm Edge Spacer With the rising demand for gas-filled triple glazed units, leading UK Component Supplier Thermoseal Group has introduced two new sizes to its Thermobar warm edge range 7.5mm and 9.5mm gas keys. Group’s Sales Director, Mark Hickox comments: “We now produce the majority of all warm edge fittings in-house 82 MAY 2014 which allows us to produce and maintain high quality bespoke products in quick response to market changes. ‘High quality bespoke products’ “Thermobar is the preferred choice of many sealed unit manufacturers because of its handling advantages: it can be stapled without cracking and breaking easily; there are no issues with hot melt bubbling on the unit edges owing to inefficient breather holes in the spacer; it requires no costly machinery investment; it is safe and easy to saw without the safety requirement for air extraction; the price is very competitive; it can be inkjet-printed for free; and can also be supplied with pre-applied PIB tape. As with the other available sizes of Thermobar, the narrower bars are fully exchangeable within current WERs for any other warm edge spacer tube.” e www.thermosealgroup.com To read more, visit www.clearview-uk.com
