Metal Technology BIM library
now available online
Use of BIM by the design
communities within the
construction sector is growing
significantly with adoption
predicted to rise to 91% within
the next three years.
As part of Metal Technology’s
continuous development
programme and in response to
this demand from the market for
support for BIM implementation,
a new BIM library covering a
full range of windows, doors and
curtain walling is now available to
designers and specifiers at: www.

Building Information Modelling
(BIM) is a sophisticated 3D
computer model which represents
in detail every element of the
building and is designed to
be a shared resource during a
construction project. The model
is used from the feasibility stage
through design, to construction,
and finally operation. The use of
BIM can increase efficiency and
reduce errors.
Virtual designs are built in
3D before work proceeds on
site. The attributes of all the
elements of the building can be
found in the model and with this
comes the concept of automatic
‘clash detection’, namely the
identification by the model of
inconsistencies between different
elements of the design before they
arise on site.
Polyframe Recognised as one of
UK’s Fastest Growing Businesses
Halifax-based Polyframe has been selected
by Santander and Smarta as one of the
UK’s top 50 most exciting, fastest growing

transforming established industries, leading
the entrepreneurial movement in the UK and
inspiring others to grow into businesses that
push our economy forward.
Winners were selected by a panel of judges
including Ana Patricia Botin – CEO of
Santander UK plc. and The Rt Hon Baroness
Vadera – Director Shriti Ltd. and former
Small Business Minister.
This prestigious award recognises the
phenomenal growth that Polyframe has
experienced in recent years. Year on year
growth has been on average 80%, in a period
of difficult trading conditions, and which has
seen minimal growth in the industry. Since
2012 Polyframe has invested in excess of
£2million on fully automated welders and
corner cleaners to ensure that the quality
of the product is improved as the business
