EU Still Prime Market for UK Exporters UK exporters still value the EU market despite the economic challenges it currently faces. The International Trade Survey – published by AIG and The Institute of Export – reports that 49.5% of UK companies consider the EU as critical to business, a proportion up from 45% last year. Exports to the EU count for approximately 60% of UK exports. “It is clear why UK exporters want to continue exporting to the EU,” says Carl Hasty, Director of international money transfer specialist, Smart Currency Business. “Ongoing trade relationships with these countries makes exporting to them more convenient than to markets further afield. This proximity also means that UK exporters can offer better services in terms of shorter lead times and cheaper delivery costs which helps build up British export competitiveness within the EU. “UK exporters should, however, consider new markets. Only 12.5% of survey respondents intend to enter new markets this year. More need to consider the advantages of looking at other markets. “Expanding their horizons, particularly on growing markets, will allow them to grow their businesses further and contribute to the Government’s export target of £1 trillion by 2020.” To read more, visit Are you passionate about customer service? • Can you lead and develop a team of skilled individuals? • Do you have experience of managing multiply locations? • Do you want to join the UK's leading independent Manufacture of Windows and Doors?
