recruitment The strong will always survive I sensed a different feeling in the air as we started 2013; not like in recent years where the gloom of recession created an over-whelming feeling of uncertainty about what was to come, but more a genuine determination that enough is enough and that this is time to start a new chapter in the history of our individual businesses. Despite the tremendous pressure our industry has been under for the past few years, there are a growing number of companies who are showing the mentality to innovate to beat market conditions, and who have teams of high-energy committed employees who are helping them to emerge from the gloom stronger and ready for success. It is great news that more companies are feeling rejuvenated than are still feeling uncertain, and increasingly the quality people from within the sector will gravitate to the survivors. As a specialist recruiter for the window and door industry, we are certainly seeing a very distinct pattern; there is a very noticeable upturn in the number of companies looking for quality personnel. Our phones are busier than at any time and our list of active clients is the biggest it has ever been. People, like good quality extrusions, hardware, or glass, are an essential part of the success of any business, and working exclusively in the window and door industry we make no apologies for seeing ourselves as a supplier like any other. The processes you go through when choosing other products are extensive, and when it comes to people it should be no different. For us, as a specialist in the industry, having a reputation for supplying good quality personnel is critical, and being known as a business which is responsive to our customers’ needs is as important to us as it is to any other supplier you deal with. Like many other companies in our sector we are committed to the FIT Show April 16th-18th at the Telford International Centre. I would be delighted to meet you there if not before, to see if we can help you to make 2013 continue as it has started, with a more positive view, and a belief that the worst may well indeed finally be behind us.
