INDUSTRYNEWS £2,500 FOR YOUR THOUGHTS Conservatory Outlet presented a cheque for £2,500 to the winner of its first customer prize draw, selected at random from those who submitted an online review about their chosen Conservatory Outlet Dealer. Greg Kane (L) and Richard Hodgson (R) present the cheque. The lucky winner was a Lancaster homeowner who employed Conservatory Outlet Dealer, Planet South Lakes, to install a UPVC residential door in October 2012. By submitting her feedback about the work completed on her home she was entered into the prize draw, which is drawn every quarter and is funded by fabricator Conservatory Outlet. Following the introduction of a central online review centre, end users can now quickly and easily rate the specific Conservatory Outlet Dealer that they used on a variety of factors. The results are stored online and each dealer has access to analyse and download its own database of reviews, the average of which determines the company’s ranking on the ‘Dealer League Table.’ ‘The online review centre ticks so many boxes for the Conservatory Outlet Network,’ said Greg Kane. It captures and stores vital performance data, increases our activity as a network of companies and offers a great deal of scope for future development – it is easily one of our most important marketing investments in recent years.’ www.conservatoryoutlet.co.uk TWR invests for a colourful year Smarts and Kommerling fabricator, TWR Trade Frames, has invested in an in-house powder-coating facility. The fabricator, which manufactures and suppliers the eternAL bi-folding door, will now be able to offer its customer’s faster lead times on aluminium windows and doors. The recent Fabricator and Installer Report from Insight Data highlighted significant growth in the aluminium market and TWR’s Managing Director Terry Richardson believes this investment will help them to continue to meet the ever growing demand for coloured aluminium products. He comments: “The growth of residential aluminium doors, in particular, has created fresh opportunities in the domestic aluminium sector and we are seeing more and more installers adding aluminium products to their portfolio.” According to Terry, coloured windows and doors also look set to continue to be a big growth market in 2013, a growing trend that further influenced TWR’s decision to invest in its own in-house powder coating. TWR Trade Frames were recently earmarked as the North East’s number one supplier of Smarts products; and were also endorsed by Kommerling as one of its top fabricators in the north of the country. Through its participation in a major upgrade to affordable housing in Coventry for Orbit Heart of England, Sovereign has supplied approximately 100 properties with replacement VEKA windows and doors under the CESP (Community Energy Saving Programme) funding. David Clover, Sales Director at Sovereign comments: “We were pleased to be able to supply VEKA Infinity triple glazed windows for the project. The VEKA Infinity profile, containing up to 80% recycled material whilst still meeting BS EN12608, was the perfect choice to meet the high specification required by Orbit. “Along with many other outstanding attributes, it has a low 0.8 U-value for highperformance and sustainability. To make it a closed loop recycling system, the old frames were collected and processed by VEKA Recycling, who can process frames to such a level of purity that they can be directly turned in to new frames rather than lower grade products.” VEKA plc, 01282 716611, www.vekauk.com, [email protected] To read more, visit www.clearview-uk.com FEB 2013 59
