Origin Global has been
shortlisted for The Growth
Business of the Year for the
2014 National Business
Awards. Family run, High
Wycombe-based Origin is a
leading UK manufacturer of
aluminium bi-folding doors
and windows.
Going up against companies
including DPD UK, Spencer
Ogden and Myhomemove,
amongst others, they will
compete for the prestigious
award, with the winner being
revealed at the National Business
Awards gala dinner held on
11 November at Park Lane’s
Grosvenor House Hotel in
London.

judge for the category said:

business which has developed
innovative systems and processes
that enable it to offer its
bespoke product with massively

profitability. This also provides
a strong base to develop new
export markets.”

This year’s shortlisted
businesses cover activities as
diverse as retail, technology,
men’s grooming products,
telecoms, construction,
advertising, entertainment, and
publishing. Of the businesses
shortlisted, 24% turnover under
£5m, 26% turnover between
£5m and £25m, 15% over a
billion and 10% not for profit
organisations. The smallest
business recognised has a
turnover of just £23k with the
largest reaching £20 billion.
Finalists collectively employ over
850,000 people, the smallest has
just one member of staff while
the largest employs around
165,000 people globally.

Solidor continues to innovate
in the composite door sector
and its latest Solidor Cloud
software solution – launched at
FIT – is one of the company’s
most exciting marketing and
operational developments to
date.
Solidor Cloud will completely
revolutionise the way people
generate leads for composite
doors and then push those
leads through to live orders
on the Solidor CRM system,
in a completely paperless
environment. Through a
dedicated trade log in section to
Solidor’s website, customers can
obtain online quotes in real time
and then place orders at the click
of a mouse.
But Solidor Cloud offers much
more, as the live order tracking
facility can be harnessed so
customers can find out exactly
where the orders are on the
system, call up old jobs, order
replacement parts and even
log any complaints or issues.
Customers can also chose delivery
dates and addresses and even
be notified of any out of stock
issues.
Recommended and Premium
Installers can also upload new
showroom images, update
opening times and order POS
and other marketing support
materials. Trade suppliers can also
benefit from their own software
solution that will integrate to
the Solidor Cloud. Additionally,
customers will be sent a preview
of any important news and
product developments directly to
their desktops.
The whole system can also
be integrated with the new
sales generator software which
enables Solidor customers
to have the Door Designer
software integrated within
their own websites and with
it, place orders through the
cloud directly to Solidor in a
paperless environment. When
a consumer designs a door on a
Solidor customer’s website they
will be notified via e-mail, an
automatic quote with the required
margin is generated and then
sent on a Solidor Recommended
or Premium installer e-mailer
template.
