DIARYDATES SPECIAL PRESENTATION: “PLASTICS MOVE THE WORLD” The world of plastics will meet from 16th October to 23th October 2013 at Düsseldorf: K, the globally premier trade fair for plastics and rubber, the industry’s meeting point for innovation, information and investment. On almost 170,000 square metres of exhibition space in 19 halls, over 3,000 exhibitors will provide details. Right in the middle of it all is the traditional special presentation “Plastics move”, hosted by the German plastics industry and Messe Düsseldorf under the aegis of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. The word “move” is interpreted in a broad sense at the special presentation: it comprises the contributions of plastics to the various facets of mobility as well as emotional aspects like e.g. the arts and design, or triggers for future-oriented solutions. The topical area “Plastics move – the future” highlights innovations and visions, covering energy-efficient housing, the medicines of tomorrow, water treatment, and food for a growing world population. SOLAR MEETS GLASS CONFERENCE TAKES A BREAK The “Solar meets Glass – 4th Industry Summit for Markets, Costs and Technology,” scheduled to take place at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Du?sseldorf on 9th and 10th October, has been cancelled. ‘Over 130 participants’ Over the course of the current year, the sector has increasingly been focusing its strengths in other areas and paying less attention to the module manufacturing segment – specifically in the German marketplace. After successfully staging Solar meets Glass with over 130 participants in the context of glasstec last year, organising partners Messe Du?sseldorf, Solarpraxis and OTTI (Ostbayerisches Technologie-Transfer-Institut e.V.) have agreed to take this step. Solar meets Glass will resume as planned in October of 2014 – again as part of glasstec, the world’s leading trade fair for the glass industry. SIGNED UP FOR FIT SHOW 2014 Following the outstanding success of the FIT Show this year, the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has signed up to exhibit at the show in 2014.
