colour COLOUR ME BEAUTIFUL From bold bright pinks to luminous greens, homeowners across the country are bringing a world of fresh new colours to their front doors. According to Asa McGillian, md of Apeer doors, bright pink has proved a popular choice in and around the Brighton area while the company’s bespoke colour service has attracted requests for all sorts of unusual colours, including luminous green. “It was seeing the trend for brighter colours that inspired us to show our just-launched MODO collection in some really vibrant shades at the Fabricator and Installer Trade (FIT) show at Telford,” said Asa. “The one in bright yellow proved especially effective in drawing people on to the Apeer stand!” For those not quite brave enough to bold it out with fuchsia pinks, day-glow greens or full-on yellows, heritage colours such as Chartwell Green are proving popular – as are trendy Farrow and Ball style colours. Said Asa: “Black also remains a popular choice although it has a reputation for being more troublesome than any other colour as it absorbs heat at a greater rate which, in some cases, can lead to warping and cracking. “Because Apeer doors are an all-fibreglass composite, this is not an issue for us and we are just as happy to offer our 10 year guarantee on black doors as any other colour.” At the other end of the colour spectrum, white is once again proving popular – although as with everything else, the UKs tastes vary from region to region. Said Asa: “People in the North of England are still much more likely to order more traditional reds, blues and greens while those in the South are more likely to be a bit more adventurous. As start-to-finish manufacturers, Apeer Doors has long offered a huge choice of colour options. In addition to its 10-colour standard palette and four-colour Premium range, the company can customise to any BS or RAL colour for an additional charge. Customers are able to choose non- standard colours on one or both sides of the door.
