Create an entrance
with Hörmann
High quality entrance doors from Hörmann offer
window installers an opportunity to add even
more value to home improvement projects.
From the entry level ThermoPro to the
recently introduced ThermoCarbon, all
Hörmann products benefit from precision
engineering that helps to create an easier
to fit door-set with excellent results for the
customer.
The high quality look and feel of Hörmann
doors justifies a price premium and creates
the opportunity to increase profitability. With
many homeowners now concerned with both
security and insulation the complete range
meets these demands without compromising
styling choices.
All Hörmann entrance doors are highly
secure, thanks to multi-point locking, conical
swing bolts, security bolts and lock bolts that
pull the doors tightly shut. Secured by Design
options are also available with the entry level
ThermoPro door. This unique steel faced
door is produced in a range of classic and
contemporary styles, including traditional
British designs.
The Secured by Design options include
security coded lock cylinders, which are
designed to resist picking, snapping, bumping
or drilling. This is of more interest following
the recent adverse publicity regarding
eurocylinder locks.
As well as being secure these doors are also
stylish and thermally efficient, exceeding the
latest standards. The 46 mm door leaf is filled
with rigid, CFC free, polyurethane foam
leading to thermal U-values as low as 1.2 W/
m2K. This design also provides high levels of
acoustic insulation.
Double seals on all four sides, with additional
corner seals, provide extra protection against
the elements and help to ensure that these
doors are airtight, watertight and stable.
Taking things a step further, the recently
introduced ThermoPro Plus maintains
the high levels of security and ease of use
but features a 65mm thick door leaf on a
composite frame. This frame adds to the
overall insulation value, along with thermal
breaks and thicker insulation. This door leaf
sits in an 80mm aluminium door frame that
also includes PU foam infill and a thermal
break. Triple seal s on the threshold strip and
another thermal break all help to maximise
insulation to give a fitted door with a U-value
of only 1.0W/m2K.
The aluminium entrance door range features
three models Top Comfort, ThermoSafe and
ThermoCarbon, with a host of options and
styling choices. These doors take insulation
and security to another level with a number of
optional security features.
The Top comfort utilises the 80mm thick
profile system and has a slim, 30mm thick
door leaf. Most styles of this model feature
larger glazed panels which themselves have
U-values as low as 1.1W/m2K. As with the
ThermoPro range, three way adjustable hinges
help to ensure these doors seal perfectly and
close smoothly and securely time after time.
The ThermoSafe and ThermoCarbon doors
are new for 2014 and replace the Top Prestige
and Top PrestigePlus models. These doors
feature a new structure and represent the next
generation of high-insulation entrance doors.
Designed for low energy homes and housing
developments, they offer impressive thermal
and acoustic insulation plus high security.
The ThermoSafe features a 73mm thick door
leaf with a rigid, CFC free, PU foam infill and
an aluminium sub-frame with thermal break,
which gives an excellent U-value that meets
the Passivhus standard of 0.8W/m2K. Triple
glazed panels with shatterproof safety glass,
on the inside and outside, help maintain the
high level of insulation when these options are
chosen.
For the ultimate in insulation, the
ThermoCarbon door marries a reinforced
carbon fibre subframe with solid PU foam
in a 100mm thick door leaf, to produce an
entrance door with a U-value of only 0.47
W/m2K. Quadruple glazed panels help to
maintain this ground-breaking level. This door
also comes with 9-point locking and hidden
hinges as standard.
With colour choices and finishes that match
the vast majority of window profiles, the
Hörmann range can be a seamless part of any
home makeover. Matching side elements and
transom lights add to the design options and
can turn a front door in to a grand entrance.
