The new handle is available in the six standard greenteQ finishes of white, black, PVD Gold, and Polished, Satin and Smokey Chromes. greenteQ Alpha Patio Pull Handle suits the popular Roto and Yale (Paddock) inline patio locks and is available with or without a cylinder hole. COLLABORATIVE EFFORT CREATES FIRST FOR TIMBER FENESTRATION Multi-point locks (MPLs) for French doors are well established on the PVCu side of the fenestration industry, but conventional designs create a number of issues for timber fabricators. To overcome these issues, and to deliver a product tailored specifically to timber fenestration, Westwards Building Services has collaborated with security specialist ERA, part of grouphomesafe, to develop a French Door MPL, tested to PAS 24. The lock, branded Ventus, is the first of its kind using a deadbolt to achieve PAS 24 certification. Based in Cornwall and supplying the whole of the UK, Westward is a specialist supplier of hardware, power tools and fixings to the timber joinery industry. Its focus on timber fenestration enables the company to understand the specific needs of this market. To reach a solution, Westwards identified a range of additional features which, when incorporated into a generic lock, would overcome these problems, and turned to ERA to develop the new version. Brett Evans of ERA says: “We applied our expertise in MPL technology to work to Westwards specification to develop a deadbolt MPL which offered all of the security features that were required for PAS 24 certification.” Contact Westward Building Services on 01752 854241 or ERA on 01922 490000. http:// www.grouphomesafe.com/. 60 AUG 2013 To read more, visit www.clearview-uk.com
