Installer Boosts Business with Real Aluminium

aluminium business by 50% after making the
leap to REAL Aluminium. Sherborne Windows
is reaping the rewards of Customade Group’s
complete aluminium solution after becoming
one of the first installers in the UK to adopt it
when it was launched a last year.
Sherborne began installing aluminium
glazed roofing systems from Atlas Glazed Roof
Solutions, which is also part of the Customade
Group, some time ago and recognised that
REAL Aluminium could help the company
achieve growth in aluminium.
The company, which has three dedicated
showrooms at Farnborough and Hartley
Wintney in Hampshire and Windlesham in
Surrey, was attracted to REAL Aluminium
because of the impressive array of aluminium

An Atlas Skyroom and REAL Aluminium
windows and doors have been installed at
Sherborne’s showroom in Windlesham, whilst
the Hartley Wintney site features a selection of
flat rooflights, aluminium bi-folding doors and
French doors. Sherborne has seen a significant
uplift in aluminium sales as a direct result of
homeowners visiting the showroom.

Dudley’s Aluminium has finished its work
with Willmott Dixon to support the
construction of the new £25m Islwyn High
School, in Caerphilly.
Dudley’s has completed a contract, more
than £550,000, to install the aluminium façade
and key structural fixtures at the site, including
curtain walling, windows and doors. This project
also represents the first collaboration between
Dudley’s and AluK aluminium systems.
Islwyn School, which was built on the
former Oakdale Colliery site, will replace the
Oakdale and Pontllanfraith secondary schools
and opens in September 2017.
When completed, the secondary school
will house up to 1,075 children, across
60 classrooms, and contain a 3G Sports
Pitch, multi-use games area, eight science
laboratories and a learning resource centre.
The development of Islwyn School is being
supported through the 21st Century Schools
programme, which is funded and managed by
the Welsh Government and local authorities.
Commenting on Dudley’s contract,
managing director Colin Shorney said: “Islwyn
School is a very exciting project for the local
community and we are delighted to have
completed our work at the site. ”
