DOORS&WINDOWS SPONSORED BY [email protected] The industry’s best kept secret Over the last ten years, Newview Windows & Conservatories has become one of the largest glazing home and home improvement companies in the South East. »»WHILST NEWVIEW, who is based in Worthing, West Sussex, is not a name that has been on the radar for many in the industry, the family-run firm, co-owned by Duncan and Michele Wietscher, has achieved phenomenal success, making them one of the industry’s best kept secrets. RECORD YEAR Newview has grown year-onyear, even through a recession, over its 13 years of trading and recently celebrated a record year of trading. Covering the year to June 2016, turnover rose to £4.2m, a 41 per cent increase on the year before. In the last year, Newview has also seen staff numbers rise to 45 and a milestone of 120,000 windows fitted. Hard work, investment and building long-term, sustainable relationships has been key to Newview’s success and has gained the firm a loyal following of trade installers. Michele comments: “Our focus has always been on building relationships, adding to our project portfolio and establishing a good reputation for quality. Working with the likes of Heathrow and national housebuilders ensures we only deliver one level of service – and that is outstanding. “From this we’re securing bigger commercial contracts and this, coupled with a number of new investments we’re making this year, will put us more in the public eye.” HIGH-PROFILE PROJECTS In the commercial market, where it does the majority of its business, Newview has worked with some of the UK’s leading house builders including Barratts, Persimmons and Hargreaves Group. The firm recently completed a project with Bovis Homes to install PVCu casement and sash windows and French doors in the Winchester Village housing development, located just off Romsey Road on the edge of Winchester. 44 » SE P 2016 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M Newview won phase one of the contract, which saw it install 480 windows in four months in a range of two bedroom apartments and three, four and five bedroom homes. Newview is also renowned for its expertise in soundproofed windows and is one of the UK’s leading installers of highperformance, noise reducing windows. The company partnered with Heathrow Airport, where it has been installing windows in a 30 mile radius of the airport since 2011. THE HIGHEST STANDARDS High-end commercial contracts are where Newview refined and built its reputation for quality service. From initial orders through to installation and aftercare, each member of Newview staff is committed to completing every job to the highest of standards. Michele comments: “Expectations are higher in the commercial market. You’re held to very high standards and we’ve found that throughout the business we are adhering to these same high standards, whether it’s a large commercial contract or a residential installation. “It has been very rewarding, we have good products, we have a very smooth sales and order process, our staff are engaged and enthusiastic and, ultimately, this has helped us grow.” £70K INVESTMENT Directors are keen to maintain high levels of quality as the business expands including its latest investment, the opening of a trade counter in the summer. Then new trade counter will supply installers and local builders across the south east and UK with high-quality windows, doors and associated products. Newview’s size allows them to maintain competitive prices and offer products at a fast turnaround. The business has invested £70k in the trade counter and already has suppliers lined up for when it opens later this year. IF IT ISN’T BROKE Newview has plans for further expansion and is looking to open further branches and trade counters in the region and further afield. To achieve this, Michelle says it will be business as usual at Newview. “Our current business model is successfully driving growth,” says Michele. “With a real focus on building a reputation for quality we are landing some big contracts and connecting with influential clients. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it. “But, for us, we also want to share our passion for doing business, with our staff and with our clients, to inspire others and to promote the Newview brand to potential clients who could really benefit from our services.”
