HOMESECURITYMONTH
October home security initiative
will sell more doors and windows
» » SPONSORED BY SECURITY
brand Yale and supported by
leading window and door fabricator
Quickslide, National Home
Security Month (NHSM) returns
this month for its fourth year,
aimed at encouraging homeowners
to reconsider every aspect of the
security of their properties.
NHSM will cover a different
security topic each week including
home security measures –
predominantly focusing on
window and door locks as well as
how to safeguard valuables inside a
home. And Quickslide, as industry
leaders in high-quality windows
and doors fitted with pioneering
security features, is encouraging
its installer customers to make the
most of the heightened awareness
that this event will generate, by
emphasising to their customers
the upgraded security features
available as standard on its
products.
“Usually the first thing a
buyer considers is aesthetics,
closely followed by security,
then price,” advised Quickslide’s
Sales & Marketing Director
Tom Swallow. “National Home
Security Month will encourage
homeowners to think even more
about the security features on
windows and doors they may be
considering, and retail installers
should take the opportunity to
place even more emphasis on the
security features of our doors and
windows during this time.”

Entry by Force: new
locking system on
composite doors
Manchester-based Force 8 has now introduced the
Yale Conexis L1 Smart Door lock as another locking
system option to their composite door ranges. This
locking system puts you in control, allowing you the
freedom to secure your home without the use of a key.
» » WITH THE CONEXIS L1 LOCK, THIS
allows the use of your smartphone as your
new key, so you don’t need to worry about
using keys or having to replace them, plus
you can send keys via the app, allowing access
to your home for a certain amount of time.
Dennis Sumner, Managing Director
of Force 8 comments “Homeowners are
becoming more reliant on their phones so
using this technology provides for a more
beneficial method of entry, however, many
still want to use a key.“
This simple, stylish and effective locking
mechanism shows how the industry is
constantly evolving. As the smart lock is
compatible with most multi point locks on
the UK market, installation is also easy.
“The Yale Conexis L1 Smart Lock meets
PAS24 security standards and matched
with Force 8’s decadence door range, you

can be sure this combination provides for
a highly secure composite door that still
looks aesthetically pleasing”, concludes
Dennis.
