aluminium alternative to cater for projects
that featured larger apertures,” explained

out to design a product that has superior
aesthetics and excellent security, as well as
market-leading weather performance, enabling
our customers to capitalise on the continued
demand for premium aluminium systems.”
DESIGNED WITHOUT
COMPROMISE
The new aluminium bi-fold has been
designed from scratch and features a host of
innovative features. It also utilises the exact
same stylish hardware as its PVCu counterpart,
reducing stock holding levels and therefore,
helping to save money on product inventory.
Designed in collaboration with leading
manufacturer ERA, the hardware range caters
for both traditional and contemporary styles,
with individual bi-fold hardware kits due
to be launched in November. The ‘kits’ will
be available direct from Duraflex providing
a single-source supply chain and equipping

smaller fabricators with the flexibility of
manufacturing singular bi-fold doors and thus,
able to compete in this buoyant market.
In terms of aesthetics, the new offering has
the classic - and highly sought-after - slim
sightlines that we’ve come to expect from a
premium aluminium bi-fold door. Featuring
contemporary design, multiple threshold
options and an effortlessly smooth bottom
running track. The door is available in a range
of stylish colour options to compliment any
property type and give the consumer a wider
choice to suit their individual needs.

Security performance is second to none;
featuring shootbolt locking on all doors, the
aluminium bi-fold offers industry leading
security credentials, with PAS 24 and
Secured by Design built in as standard, as
well as meeting the stringent requirements
for Document Q of Building Regulations.
Furthermore, aesthetics haven’t been
compromised in achieving this; the innovative
design means that all locking mechanisms are
neatly enclosed within the frame, ensuring the
clean, contemporary lines are maintained.
As with all products in the Diamond Suite,
Q-lon weatherseal gasket delivers enhanced
weather performance and with its’ lifetime
guarantee, provides additional peace of mind
for the homeowner.
CONFIGURATION AND
DESIGN OPTIONS
Able to span 6176mm wide by 2440mm
high and available in 2 to 6 door width
options and 13 opening configurations, this
exclusive aluminium bi-fold successfully
delivers style and choice; with a range of add-
ons also available for enhanced versatility.
It can be fabricated using traditional
crimping, or an innovative cleat system, which
requires no specialist machinery. Furthermore,
the bi-fold system has been cleverly expanded
to include a single and double Flush Door
style, building upon Duraflex’s much-coveted
Flush collection; offering a full suite of flush
products to meet the needs of even the most
discerning homeowner.
