Ryan completed the Great North Run in September, fundraising for Macmillan in memory of his late Nan, Jean Handy, who received support and palliative care from Macmillan nurses and the Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Kettering. “The support I received from across the industry was incredible and I was really touched by how many people stepped up to support what is an amazing charity”, said Ryan. He continued: “This included a very generous contribution from Total Hardware. “My Nan’s final days were very difficult but the support and palliative care she received from Macmillan nurses and the Cynthia Spencer Hospice, was exceptional and something which was a real comfort to all of us. C O M » » AS THE GLASS AND Glazing Federation (GGF) celebrated its 40th Anniversary at the annual GGF Members Day and the occasion proved extra special for two long-serving GGF Members Brian Baker (former GGF President and interim Chief Executive) and Brian Waldron (Chairman of the GGF Standards Committee) have been recognised for Outstanding Service to the GGF. Brian Baker: “I had planned to retire a few years ago but when I am asked to help out, it seems I just can’t refuse. I would like to thank everyone for all their help over the years. I’m pleased to have played my part in the GGF and truly honoured to receive this award from the Federation.” Brian Waldron: “I remember the GGF when it started in 1977, in small rented offices at Mount Row in Mayfair and I am pleased to have been part of its incredible success over the last 40 years.
