machinery NEW PROFILE MACHINING CENTRE Elumatec has started production in Germany, of its all new SBZ 137 Profile Machining Centre, a compact four-axis profile model for working aluminium and PVCu profiles. »»With its innovative, patented machine concept the SBZ 137 features a machine table can be tilted towards the operator, and a new high-speed ring module. By tilting the machine table 30 degrees, it enables the operator to work in an ergonomic position. It can be loaded from an upright position, thus reducing potential back strain. The inclined bed gives the operator a very clear view of the SBZ 137 in all machining positions and cleaning is made faster as swarf automatically falls off the incline and can be carried away by an optional conveyor. The ring module, which can run at a speed of up to 150 m/min on the machine bed, substantially shorting operation times. Its increased speed comes from the very small safety gap that reduces travel distances as it moves around the profile to machine the various surfaces. The new equipment accompanied with the in house welding facility, has cut Howells’s production time down massively.
