New aluminium fabricator
off to an excellent start
»»New aluminium fabricator,
The Window Outlet, opened for business at
the beginning of September and it looks like
they’re off to a great start.
The Bristol-based company, established by
long-time industry insiders Ben Warren and
Clive Uppington, has already attracted plenty
of attention and interest in the industry,
with orders being placed via the social media
platform Twitter before the new fabricator
even started trading. Ben also gained a new
Social Networker of the year nomination in
the National Fenestration Awards 2014.
The Window Outlet is an AluK fabricator
of casement windows, entrance doors, bifolding and patio doors, as well as shop fronts
and other commercial applications, using a
wide range of specialised aluminium profile
systems such as BW58, BD58, BSF70, BSC94
and GT55.
The Window Outlet MD, Ben Warren, said:
“Having worked in this industry for many
years, we know what it takes for a fabricator

to be a good partner for its clients and we’re
ready to put this knowledge to work.”

Relentless growth
sees major changes at
specialist fabricator
»»The continued growth of the
aluminium sector has led a specialist fabricator
to make significant changes on the factory
floor.
Gloucester based CDW Systems is adding
a second shift at its factory and has gone on a
recruitment drive to cope with demand.
CDW Systems’ MD Jerry Webb said: “The
economy is picking up and in regional pockets
of the UK we are seeing an increasing number
of speculative commercial developments
happening and aluminium is the material
of choice. Domestic demand for aluminium
products such as bi-fold and sliding folding
doors is also strong.
CDW Systems has been in business for twentyone years, manufacturing and supplying a wide
range of windows, doors, shop fronts and curtain
walling, using some of the leading aluminium
profile systems on the market today, including
SAPA, ALUK and Smarts.
The specialist aluminium fabricator brings to
market new products yearly; and most recently
rolled out its new PassivHaus approved patio door
that can accommodate up to 4000kg of glass.
“All this positive activity is great news for us
and our customers and we’ve now increased
our production output to help installers
take advantage of the current market,” Jerry
concludes.
Low energy
use with
aluminium
windows
and doors
»»Leading provider of
aluminium architectural glazing systems,
Reynaers at Home, says that aluminium
systems not only offer top energy efficiency
levels, but also can help to add value to a
home too.
According to 40% of architects, a costeffective solution for customers looking to
sell, or wait for a better housing market,
can be to install larger windows and doors,
which lends a fantastic opportunity for
fabricators and installers.
Reynaers at Home has a number of
outstanding aluminium window and door
systems that are able to maximise light
entry whilst at the same time improve
thermal efficiency. Its high performance
CS 77 HI+ window system has achieved a
Window Energy Rating of A+, the present
highest level, from the British Fenestration
Rating Council (BFRC).
John McComb, Director Technical
Services at Reynaers at Home, said: “Our
aluminium windows and doors give energy
conscious architects and fabricators the
ideal system when creating low energy use
buildings. The CS 77 HI+ triple chamber
system has the highest levels of insulation,
thus preserving as much energy as
possible.”
