HARDWARE& SECURITY Ready, set, QUAD » » GT WINDOW PRODUCTS HAS celebrated the launch of its latest innovative security product - the GT Quad Guard - with a day’s quad biking experience for eight lucky customers. For the randomly selected customers of Quad Guard (selected from last year’s FIT Show), the morning was spent trekking on off-road terrain of over 150 acres of varied landscapes, and after lunch, the level of competition was increased when everybody competed in a timed race on a flat racing track. In the end, Carl H of Sliding doors and Windows picked up the winning trophy for fastest lap times, followed by John Fothergill of SWC Trade Frames and David Adlam of Sliding Doors and Windows. In keeping with the GT tradition of simple, cost effective solutions for enhanced security, and a revision in the demanding Q Document enhanced security test, the Quad Guard was launched to assist with the protection of both doors and windows, and prevent an opening of more than 50mm being achieved when put under load. After several successful tests, at a number of accredited test houses including BSI, the GT Quad Guard has been launched and already exceeded forecasted sales expectations and can be seen fitted to doors and windows from a number of the most well- known fabricators in the industry. ASA TURLEY Technical Sales Manager of GT Window products says, “The timing of Quad Guard was impeccable due to increased stringent testing on UPVC doors and the demand for simpler and more efficient methods for passing the test.
