Bohle adds Portavant 150 Multiline to its range
» » BOHLE HAS EXPANDED
its range of internal sliding
stacking doors with the addition
of the Vitris Portavant 150
Multiline.
Ideally suited to high-end
residential or commercial
applications, the multi-track
system uses a telescopic
mechanism, which enables each
individual door leaf to be stacked
alongside the other, maximising
opened space.
Suitable for single-sided or
two-sided installations, the system
can accommodate spans of up
to 6000mm and weights of up
to 150kg as a single system and
12000mm with two systems.
Individual sashes can be
manufactured to up to 960mm
in width, and as a ceiling-
mounted system with integrated
guides, the Portavant 150
Multiline also eliminates any
requirement for floor hardware
such as trackes or guides.
Dave Broxton, Managing
Director, Bohle, said: “It’s
telescopic function makes the
Multiline ideally suited to a wide
range of premium residential and
commercial applications.
“With glass partitioning and
room dividing a defining feature
of commercial and increasingly
residential design, the Portavant
Multiline generates a broad range
of opportunities.”
With integrated dampeners,
each sash closes on the other
using a soft-close technology.
Installation is also straightforward
with all components inserted into
the track laterally.
This means that the glass
panel fitted with clamping jaws
is mounted into the twin roller
assembly from below, making
adjustment and setting far easier.
The Portavant 150 Multiline
can also be installed into a
ceiling pocket in front of a lintel
or suspended ceiling. A special
swivelling feature on the clamp
also means that the cushioning
system and the activator remain
perfectly aligned even if installed
outside of exact vertical alignment
up to a tolerance of +/- 2.5mm.
“It’s a simple system to install
and forgiving, and within reason,
will comfortably accommodate
installation outside exact vertical
alignment”, said Broxton. “What
is really exciting about the
Portavant Multiline is the flexibility
and versatility it delivers across
residential and light commercial
applications in a single system.”

FD60 now available from UK’s
finest fire door fabricator
West Port, the UK’s foremost timber fabricator,
is expanding its already market-leading fire-rated
offering with the addition of an FD60 door.
» » RECENT YEARS HAVE SEEN THE
Cumbrian firm build a reputation as the
country’s go-to supplier for quality timber fire
doors.
Its best-in-class FD30 product managed
to withstand temperatures in excess of 800
degrees Celsius for 42 minutes 7 seconds, or
40% longer than required to achieve an FD30
rating, when subjected to rigorous testing by
both Cambridge Fire Research and BRE.
Now, the fabricator has gone one better,
designing a product capable of holding back an
inferno for an hour.
Managing Director Sean Parnaby comments:
“At West Port, we’ve always prided ourselves
on treating fire safety with the utmost
seriousness. We never forget that, more than
anything else, a fire door is about saving lives.

“Unfortunately, not all fabricators share
that attitude. For too long, fenestration has
performed shockingly badly when it comes to
fire-rated products.
“Our FD60 door, like every other fire product
we offer, has been rigorously tested as a complete
door set. But it’s still very common for some
manufacturers to test individual components
separately, rather than testing the completely
assembled door set. That can lead to products
with fire ratings that only last a fraction of the time
they’re supposed to. This is utterly unacceptable.
“Buy from West Port, and you’re guaranteed
a fire-rated product that lasts (at very least) as
long as it’s supposed to. If you’re interested in
learning more, don’t hesitate to give us a call.”
