FIT SHOW 2016 IN SAFE HANDS AT FIT 2016 »»As the dust settles on FIT 2016, CENSolutions, the largest supplier of quality certification in the window, door and glass industries, is pleased to report it was a successful three days. Wayne Rogerson, joint managing director of CENSolutions explains: “We are really happy with how the show has gone for us. Not only was it a chance for us to meet and catch up with customers and industry friends, we have also made some great new contacts and have lots of good quality leads to follow up. “As well as promoting CENSolutions and our ‘In Safe Hands’ campaign, we also wanted to take the opportunity to have representatives on our stand from ER Certification and TÜV Rheinland Nederland B.V. who we work closely with in order to complete testing and accreditation, which was really well received. We were also delighted to host the launch of ERC Testing – a sister company to ER Certification – who will work in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland Nederland B.V. to provide consistent, high quality testing for our customers. “Our iPad mini giveaway generated a great amount of interested and we would like to congratulate Graham Churchill of Topline Glass and Glazing Ltd, Nigel Burt of Toolfix Services and Joe Hunter of Central Glass/Sheffield Window Centre, who each left the show as one of our daily draw winners. A stand at the FIT Show is a big investment, but now the show is over that the hard work really starts, as we need to ensure in the coming months that the investment pays off.” www.censolutions.com GIVING THAT COMPETITIVE EDGE »»Deceuninck’s ‘Big Reveal’ at the FIT Show was its new Heritage Flush Sash, attracting many visitors to its stand. The innovative Flush Sash suites with Deceuninck’s existing Heritage system and is outstanding across the board: A+ energy efficiency, PAS24 security, great weather performance, and a night vent facility with popular Maco or Yale hardware. It can be fully welded or mechanically jointed for a more traditional appearance, and is available in 26 colourways from stock, including matching cills, trims and ancillaries. Managing Director Roy Frost says: “Developing quality, high performance products that look great drives everything we do and our new Flush Sash is no exception. It’s the latest in a series of products we’ve launched to help give our fabricators an edge over competitors, and the FIT Show was the perfect platform to showcase them all. “Other innovations at the show included our new sliding patio door, new fully reversible window and leading colour-from-stock range”, continues Roy. “We also had lots of interest in MyBrand, our unique tailored marketing support, so much so we ran out of sample brochures part way through Day 1! Luckily we were able to arrange a new batch for delivery on Tuesday morning.” www.deceuninck.co.uk AN OVERALL GREAT SHOW »»“We had a number of particular interests during the show – we again managed the Master Fitter Challenge,” comments Mick Clayton, CEO of GQA. “The range of products really did create a true ‘challenge’ for the six fantastic sets of finalists, and the Assessment Team. You could only respect their dedication and their commitment, and it was rewarding for them and us to see so many people stop and take a genuine interest. “We all know that installation is the critical part of the whole industry supply chain – without it nothing happens. “So it was good to have the opportunity at 50 M AY 2 01 6 the FIT Show to talk to people at great length about our core offering – industry relevant qualifications and MTC solutions, and again the response meant we were very busy. “Finally, we took the opportunity to canvas the industry first-hand about key issues such as the important role qualifications has to play in helping to attract more young people to the industry; the full results are on our website but it is clear that there is a real understanding of the importance of better qualified personnel and what they can add to any business, and that there is a genuine need to bring new blood into the industry,” Mick adds. www.gqaqualifications.com
