INDUSTRYNEWS Reaching Out Further »»Extended reach and increased overhang of installed windows is provided following the addition of new components to ISO-Chemie’s thermal insulating and load bearing bracket system, ISO-TOP WINFRAMER. ‘provide increased overhang whenever necessary’ ISO-TOP WINFRAMER system is based around a 1,200mm length pre-fabricated composite installation frame, which can be cut to size on-site and secured in position using an adhesive. This enables installers to quickly fit windows into the insulation area between the inner and outer walls, avoiding the need to use metal brackets which can cause non-repeating thermal bridging and give extensive problems when the windows need replacing. Now, a selection of new system brackets have been introduced to provide increased overhang whenever necessary. These are available in three sizes: a 80mm wide x 80mm high bracket to fit the majority of UK window sizes and a 140mm wide x 90mm high option for deeper window profiles, or for use with combination products such as roller shutters. ISO-Chemise’s ISO-TOP WINFRAMER now features new system components for extended reach A third bracket size (200mm wide x 110mm high) is ideal for reaches from 160mm to a maximum of 200mm, providing a robust, strong and high performance support frame with a high load-bearing capacity that’s capable of supporting heavier window loads as well as bi-fold doors. First developed as a Garden Village in 1926, Silver End is an unconventionally attractive Art Deco style village set in the heart of Essex and was created to house the growing workforce of a local manufacturer of groundbreaking metal windows. “I am very proud of what we achieved at Silver End,” said Bruce. “Because the windows had been replaced at least once in the lifetime of the village hall we redesigned the windows without seeing any original images. But by studying other buildings in the village and contemporary archives of the time we were able to design windows that the Council was more than happy with.” You can watch the Silver End episode of Penelope Keith’s Hidden Villages here: https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Av9MPWNmg38 Cutting out noise – The True Story SWISSPACER’s video, entitled ‘A homeowner’s story’ follows a homeowner as she explains in her own words why she chose windows with SWISSPACER inside. »»Caroline Norton lives near Birmingham airport and wanted energy efficient windows that helped cut noise from the airport.
