MACHINERY
BRINGING PVCU REVOLUTION
WITH RENEWED PARTNERSHIP
» » WORLD-LEADING
machining firm elumatec has
signed a deal that will see it
exclusively supply a host of PVCu
machinery products from German
manufacturers Sturtz.
Principally known for its widely
respected aluminium machining
range, elumatec has nonetheless
supplied PVCu machining
products for a number of years.
However, this latest arrangement
will significantly expand that range,
adding a number of state-of-the-art
machines, and cement the already
long-established relationship
between Sturtz and elumatec.
“We’ve been delighted by the
level of success we’ve been able
to achieve in the aluminium
machinery market,” comments
elumatec Managing Director, Phil
Heavey. “It will always be a central
Sturtz FlexCentre 160
part of our business. But at the
same time, we’ve got big ambitions
for the future.
“The UK PVCu market presents
an enormous opportunity for us.
We’re committed to bringing the
same innovative, quality-focused
ethos we’ve always applied to
aluminium to the PVCu side
of the business – and we’re
confident that given our decades
of experience, our respected
brand, and some sensational
products from Sturtz, we’ll be able
to quickly establish ourselves as
a force to be reckoned with. It’s
fantastic to be working with Sturtz
again – and we’re confident our
renewed partnership means great
things ahead for both companies
moving forward.”
The firm is now offering a range
of advanced PVCu machining
products. Sturtz FlexCentre 160
is a highly-advanced cutting
and machining centre for PVCu
window and door production.
Boasting a 6-axis machining
module and a triple sawing unit, it’s
one of the most versatile products
in its class, while the automatic
preload of profile bars and off-
load conveyor belt maximise
productivity and efficiency.
The Sturtz TXR 3/2 Corner
Transom Cleaner is a revolutionary
machine that fully automates the
cleaning of corners, transoms
and crucifix welds. Spring-loaded
knife units allow for unparalleled
accuracy, while flexible tooling
options allow the machine to
be quickly adapted for different
purposes.
The Sturtz VSM Turbo Welder
is a high-speed vertical 4-point
welder offering exceptional
accuracy and high-temperature
welding functionality that
can reduce welding times by
up to 30% - while the Sturtz
Contourline is a revolutionary
new product capable of producing
smooth, virtually seamless corner
welds much quicker that methods
that involve complex specialist
welding processes.
EFFICENCY AND SPEED WITH CROSS WELDER
» » WITH 26 YEARS IN THE
window and door fabrication
business it’s fair to say that East
Lothian-based Lyten knows quality
when it sees it. On the hunt for a
reliable cross welder after winning
a big contract involving a large
amount of crucifix welds Lyten
got in touch with Kombimatec
Machines Ltd who met the
requirements with its 1HDX
Automatic Cruciform Welder.
Having known about
Kombimatec for a number of
years, Lyten’s Patrick Duignan
explained that it was much more
than just the company’s reputation
and the 1HDX’s features that
encouraged him and Lyten to
make the purchase.
“It was the immediate
availability that really sold it for
us,” he said. “And not only that,
the 1HDX is the only identifiable
UK supplied crucifix welder from
a ‘known’ supplier - trust me, we
did a lot of research. Combine that
with the solid customer service,
delivery and installation and
then there’s really no further
encouragement needed.”

times due to being able to weld
crucifixes in one operation which
also re-duces manufacturing
costs resulting in higher
profits, other benefits the
1HDX offers include there not
being Vee Notch cutting, reverse
butt welding or insertion and
withdrawal of reinforcement.
The welder is a solid steel
construction with an overhead
heater plate, a 2.0mm weld bead
knife limitation for knife-off finish,
adjustable stops to line up different
transom widths and a two hand
safety control.
Since 1984 Kombimatec has
delivered over 10,000 machines
for working PVC and aluminium
pro-files worldwide. Designed
and manufactured to the highest

to use, simple to maintain and
with CAD experts on hand to
