New factory acquisition
»»ALUMINIUM DOOR SPECIALIST
AluFoldDirect has acquired new 35,000 sq.
ft. factory premises in Blackburn,
which will double the company’s
capacity as it plans major
product additions.
The investment is the result
of unprecedented demand,
which has seen AluFoldDirect
outstrip its sales targets to
become a leading supplier of
aluminium bi-folding, sliding and
commercial doors.
AluFoldDirect is committed to delivering
high-quality doors direct to site. Customers
receive an aluminium bi-folding door within
one week (unglazed) or two weeks (glazed),
precisely measured for a ‘right first time’
installation.
Original factory layout
Since launching in November 2014,
AluFoldDirect consistently produces over 1,000
frames per week. Following the recent launch of
its new commercial door range, and with several
other new products still to come in 2016, the
company’s relocation became essential.
“Our success depends on us holding large
stocks of aluminium to ensure a stable source

London Art Deco
beauty restored
London’s Eagle House is a powerful
statement of Art Deco elegance transported
into the present-day by developer
Mount Anvil and Farrells architects.
»»THE PROJECT USES £1M
worth of windows, doors and
curtainwall façades from Hueck,
a global leader in the manufacture
and supply of aluminium
building systems with installation
delivered by NA Curtain
Walling.
Nearly 700 windows and doors
from Hueck’s high-performance
Lambda 77 L range were used
throughout. With U values as low
as 1.0 W/(m²×K), and capable
of accommodating a sash weight
up to 160 kg visible/170 kg
concealed, these were chosen for
their high energy performances,
design flexibility and versatility.
Eagle House was specified with
purge ventilation as part of the
building regulations, and a special
project solution was designed and
developed by Hueck into most
of the windows to meet these
requirements.
Other frames provided by
Hueck in collaboration with NA
Curtain Walling included French
inward opening windows with
Tilt Before Turn facility, plus
inward opening doors with access
from the outside.
