New Hinged Unit:Back
by Popular Demand
»»THIS MONTH
Granada relaunch a new and
improved slim-line hinged
unit. The product has been
developed as a cost-effective
alternative to the company’s
existing Heritage hinged
unit and boasts a much
slimmer profile, making it the
perfect choice for domestic
application.
Granada Product Designer,
Nick Hough, explains, “Our
previous traditional hinged unit
was discontinued some time ago,
due to increased manufacturing
costs and sourcing issues. This
left a gap in our product range
for a hinged unit with a more
discreet profile. Our current
Heritage hinged unit is a popular
choice with commercial clients,
but it’s not always suitable for
homeowners.”
After 18 months of product
development and testing, Nick
and the team have come up with
a premium quality product that’s
less obtrusive in appearance
than their current offering.
Nick continued, “We’ve
reduced the sightline of this
window to 72mm, which is
18mm slimmer than our existing
90mm Heritage unit. Compared
side by side, the difference is
huge, particularly on smaller
windows.”
With the product in its
infancy, it will still need to
undergo independent acoustic
testing. However, the Granada
team are certain that this will
be their quietest window yet,
due to the double QLon seals
and snug fitting featured on each
window unit.
Head of Trade Sales, Deborah
Beeley, believes the latest
addition to the range will
prove a hit with customers
and installers alike, “Requests
for a more discreet hinged
unit continue to increase, so
it’s great that we now have a
product to meet this demand.
“We’ve managed to develop
a product that balances
discreet aesthetics with thermal
and acoustic performance,”
concludes Deborah. “Like the
rest of our traditional range
products, our new hinged
unit can be manufactured and
delivered within ten working
days.”
