Trade counter network
gears-up for growth
» » DERBYSHIRE TRADE
specialist, ProTrade Upvc, has
continued its expansion with
the opening of a Chesterfield
branch.
The third trade counter business
within the ProTrade network, Paul
Wilkins, Director ProTrade, said
that the opening of the new 4,000
sq ft facility, off Whitting Valley
Road will increase ProTrade’s
geographical reach throughout
Derbyshire and beyond.
He said: “there are a lot of
fitters and installers working out
of Chesterfield so it made sense
to be closer to them. It’s also a
reflection of the demand that
we’re seeing and our growing
reputation. Ultimately wherever
our customers want us to go.”
ProTrade Upvc was set up
in 2010 in Swadlincote. The
company opened its second site
in Loughborough four years later.
In addition to the investment it’s
made in its new Chesterfield site,
it will relocate its Swadlincote
trade counter to a new 4,500 sq ft
facility, this autumn.
Buying in windows and doors
from Emplas, after last year Paul
said that ProTrade had the right
infrastructure in place to support
continuing growth, adding:
“for us it’s about value, how can
we deliver the best service to
our customers and that means
buying in from the right supply
partner.”

4 HOUR QUOTES, 48 HOUR WINDOWS
» » INSTALLERS CAN GET 4-HOUR
quotes and 48-hour delivery on PVCu
windows from fitter-focussed trade fabricator,
Framexpress.
“Express by name, express by nature,”
says Stuart Green, Director at Framexpress.
“Time is money for installers and by offering
reliability, speed and products that are spot-
on, we help customers save both.
“We’re so committed to our 4-hour quotes,
48-hour windows promise, that we’ve made
it our top priority. It’s such an integral part
of the Framexpress service, it made sense to
make it the focus of our new brand image
too.”
2018 marks Framexpress’ twentieth year
delivering Profile 22 windows to the trade
across the UK.
Stuart adds: “Since 1998, we’ve built
Framexpress to become the fabricator of
choice for installers who want the pain and
hassle taken out of buying windows. We’re
window people, so we understand the real cost
of poor service and every single person in our
team appreciates the value of what we offer to
customers.
“Put simply, we offer fast, hassle-free PVCu
windows, doors and conservatories, so that
installers can get on and fit in more jobs every
week.”
CUT INSTALLATION COSTS BY A THIRD

Residence 9 unglazed are saving
up to third on installation
costs compared to the install
of glass-bonded products by
reducing weight and simplifying
handling.
HWL launched R9 unglazed
last year following significant
investment in its manufacturing
process and the addition of
Timberweld® sash-welding
technologies.
This gives it an almost unique
capability in the UK to butt weld

window sashes inside and out,
replicating the aesthetic delivered
in a 90° mechanical joint.
The process also eliminates the
requirement to glass-bond units
to provide structural strength
to the window. This means that
HWL’s window can be supplied
frame-only and glazed on site,
significantly reducing weight and
simplifying installation.
“What we’re doing is levelling
the playing field,” said Mark
Haley, Director, HWL Trade
Frames.
“There isn’t an installer in
the country who would fit a
window glass bonded by choice
because of the weight and
because the install is much more
difficult.
“We’ve removed all of those
obstacles. You buy your glass
from your usual supplier and fit
it just like any other window.
What that leaves you with is a
great window but one that is
also easy to install.”
