FIT SHOW 2017 IT’S ALL ABOUT THE EXHIBITORS The winners were: » » This year, taking place for the first time at Most Effective Use of Social & Digital Media: AluK the NEC, Birmingham, the FIT Show proved to be a roaring success. However, without the exhibitors this wouldn’t have been the case. Acknowledging their efforts, which naturally contributed towards the show’s excellent visitor numbers and quality of those attending, for the second year running the FIT Show Awards rewarded the best of the best. Six awards in total were up for grabs and were judged independently by a team of exhibition experts including NEC B2B Marketing Manager, Gemma Piggott, as well as NEC Account Manager, Liz Cawley. Other judges included Nicola Macdonald, Exhibition News reporter; Alison Jackson, Exhibition Consultant; and returning for a second year, Jenni Jaques, Marketing Director for AEO (Association of Event Organisers) and FaceTime. With some exceptional stands to choose from, judging this year wasn’t an easy task according to Jenni. “As soon as I walked in I was blown away,” she said. “It was bigger Runner-up: KAT UK Most Successful Visitor Campaign in Terms of Visitors Delivered: Ultraframe Most Creative FIT 2017 Marketing Campaign: REAL Aluminium by Customade Runner-up: Epwin Window Systems and better than last year and I could tell everybody had made a fantastic effort to make it into a vibrant and dynamic industry event for visitors. SHIFT TO LARGER IGUs PROMPTS HIGH LEVELS OF INTEREST » » Bohle has said that the specification of larger insulated glass units and the challenges of their onsite handling, prompted high levels of interest in its LiftMaster B1 manual lifting device at this year’s FIT Show. With a compact design and handling weights of up to 180kg, the LiftMaster B1 has been designed to combine the safe and secure movement of glass units, with maximum flexibility – packing down to fit inside an estate car. Designed to be used with or without an electric pump, it delivers exceptional versatility, while a dual circuit vacuum system, reserve tanks, vacuum display and secondary vacuum 82 JUL 2 01 7 indicator, ensure that it guarantees the highest levels of safety. Speaking at the FIT Show, Lance Conway, Technical Sales Representative, Bohle, said: “The LiftMaster B1 attracted a lot of interest. It meets all current regulations and restrictions governing the movement of glass on site – we actually used it here at the NEC to move our own glass into place – while delivering a high level of manoeuvrability.” Alongside the LiftMaster B1 Bohle also showcased its base rail balustrading system. Fully tested to BS6180:2011, the EasyMount Vario is suitable for floor or lateral mounting, supporting fast and easy installation. It delivers variable glass adjustment via a moveable base shoe. Accommodating glass thickness of 12mm to 21.52mm, combined with simple fitting requirements, it cuts installation time by as much as 30 per cent over comparable systems. “If you’re fitting a conservatory or orangery and decking to go with it, balustrading is a great way of finishing off the project. It has lots of end user appeal and offers some pretty high margin returns”, said Lance. He continued: “Focussing on the inside of the home, we’ve also been showing our Slidetec Optima 50 internal door, which is a great slimline alternative to a traditional internal sliding door or a great internal partition. Part of Bohle’s Slidetec range, Slidetec Optima 50 can be installed without the pre- drilling of glass, using smart clamping technology. “The step to installation of an internal sliding glass door is minimal but space saving and delivering really strong aesthetics, it has stacks of end user appeal”, added Lance. www.bohle-group.com/en-gb
