FIT SHOW 2017 ENHANCED SECURITY SCHEME GAINS INTEREST » » Wintech Testing & Certification has completed another successful FIT Show. The larger venue allowed for the biggest show yet, which saw a noticeable increase of visitors to its stand. Over a bustling three days the Wintech team had the opportunity to discuss testing and certification with both new and existing customers from the UK and around the world, this year seeing a rise in interest for the WinMark Enhanced Security schemes. The schemes were designed so that a fabricator can demonstrate that it conforms to the requirements laid down by Secured by Design. Building on the success of its WinMark Enhanced Security schemes, the show was used as a platform to launch a brand new WinMark scheme covering the Performance of Curtain Walling and Rainscreen Cladding. Director, Steve Bramhill explains: “One of the highlights of our stand this year was our display of a door that had been successfully tested to PAS 24:2016, which gained the attention of many visitors throughout the course of the show. Alongside this, we ran a competition to win a PAS 24 test at our laboratory in Telford.” www.wintechtesting.com 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED IN STYLE » » Roseview celebrated its 40th anniversary in style in Birmingham, with a second consecutive FIT Show appearance that drew twice as many leads and visitors than the first. On a stand that stood out from the crowd with its open, airy English garden feel, the firm was perfectly placed to showcase its wares to professionals from right across the industry. As ever, the company’s incomparably authentic Ultimate Rose was the biggest draw. First introduced in 2013, it features slim timber-like profiles, meeting rail, and period features as painstakingly detailed as full mechanical joints, run-through-sash horns and traditional sash furniture. This year the product has been upgraded with a both a slimmer meeting rail - which at just 35mm is the slimmest on the market - and Secured by Design accreditation. However, its slim mullion combination window and products from sister company and secondary glazing specialists Incarnation Windows also proved popular. Sales Director Richard Burrells commented: “It was a fantastic event that built on the success of last year’s show. We thought it would be difficult to top last year, and yet we doubled the number of leads and visitors to our stand. Thus, we’ve already booked a space for 2019.” www.roseview.co.uk ON A WINNING STREAK » » It was a double victory for REAL Aluminium and one lucky visitor to the REAL Aluminium stand at this year’s FIT Show. The show was the exciting finalé to a viral campaign for REAL Aluminium in which the brand won the coveted title of ‘best creative FIT 2017 marketing campaign’ at the gala dinner on the Wednesday evening. The winning campaign tugged on the inner child in everyone by calling all competitive show-goers to visit the stand during the three-day show to try and fly their paper plane the furthest in the Fly with REAL Paper Plane Challenge. The campaign drew crowds of competitors to the stand and, on the final day 68 JUL 2 01 7 of the show, the winner was announced as Steve Bramhill, business development director at Wintech Engineering. Steve flew his plane a staggering 23 metres down a specially designed runway on the REAL Aluminium stand and out into the gangway beyond, beating his nearest rival by almost a metre! The multi-channel campaign built excitement in the run-up to the show and underlined the core message of REAL – aluminium can be as easy as child’s play and installers will see their aluminium sales fly with REAL. www.real-aluminium.co.uk
