GIVING THEM A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY

The publisher behind Clearview magazine , Clearview Group Ltd ., recently helped raise over £ 600 for employee Lisa Garner ’ s daughter and her boyfriend , both 23 , when they ran the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May , in aid of a charity very close to the family ’ s heart .

LISA , WHO HAS WORKED for Clearview Group Ltd . since 2009 handling subscriptions for the company ’ s leading locksmithing magazine , The Locksmith Journal , asked her colleagues to donate £ 2 and guess the time in which her daughter would complete the marathon , for a chance to win a prize and raise money for the charity that provided support to her family throughout the illness of Lisa ’ s mother , who sadly passed away in 2012 .
Lisa ’ s daughter , who is just about to graduate with honours from University of St Andrews with a first in Economics with German , completed the 26.2- mile marathon in 4 hours and 39 minutes . The lucky winner , with a guess of 4 hours and 36 minutes , just 3 minutes off , was Suzanne Whyke . Suzanne works on Clearview Group ’ s farming publication , Farmers Mart , managing subscriptions , selling advertising and looking for new business . Suzanne was presented with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates . She said : “ It was a lovely surprise when Lisa gave me the good news that my guess was the closest and I ’ d won the prize .”
Clearview Group Managing Director , Steve Sidebottom , commented : “ Lisa ’ s daughter did amazingly well and we were pleased to help her reach her target for such a worthy cause .
