Here, Windowparts Ltd explains the difference between several gaskets on the market, and which one you need for the perfect fit… WINDOW GASKETS Window gaskets come in many different varieties and are used to help cut out drafts from windows and doors and to hold the glass in place securely within the frame. Over time, the seals and gaskets deteriorate and shrink leading to cold spots and drafts, this can be resolved by replacing them. TYPES OF GASKET Flipper Gasket has a profile that creates an air tight seal in window edges, used between the frames and moving sash frames and is used for draft proofing. Bubble Gasket is used on opening windows and creates a pressure seal when the window is closed. E-Gasket is used as a compression gasket system for glazing applications. Wedge Gasket is used as a compression system on windows, helps to keep the glass units secure within the fixed window frame. The problem: The major problem with any of the gaskets for repairs is that the variety of the different gaskets that has been used in all the different type of uPVC doors and windows.
