Expanding the Horizon
»»At Mountclaire Court project
in Newhampton, local fabricator and installer
CWG Choices Ltd took full advantage of
AluK’s aluminium window and door systems
to meet the requirements for a homeowner
looking for aesthetic and practical appeal.
‘maximise the amount
of natural light’
The clients were looking for a solution that
would allow them to expand their living space
and maximise the amount of natural light in
the house. Providing, AluK’s BSF70 bi-fold
door system they were able to create an open
plan area that can be easily integrated with the
garden.
This trend is continued with the BSC94 4
Pane sliding door system, 58BW TBT Tilt and
Turn Bay Window System, and the 58BW ST
Slimline casement windowsystem.
Jason Wilder, Director, CWG Choices Ltd,
comments: “AluK aluminium window and
door systems cater for variety of looks and
styles; in this particular project our clients
were looking for a modern and contemporary
design with metallic finish which we delivered
thanks to the range of colour options available.
Combined with the outstanding thermal,
acoustic and security performance of AluK
systems, we were able to complete the build to
the highest standards.”

Smart Factory Development
Work has now begun on Smart Architectural
Aluminium’s 15,000sqm factory extension at the
company’s headquarters in Yatton, North Somerset.
»»Eddie Robinson, Managing

a significant increase in capacity to meet

the renewable energy turbines will enable
our manufacturing plant to become entirely

completion, the expansion programme will
also have effectively doubled our existing
workforce, with over 200 new, permanent jobs
having been created.”
Richard Kent, Head of Development

companies to help them grow and expand.
Smart is a major employer and we are very

Record
year end for
aluminium
fabricator
»»Specialist aluminium
fabricator CDW Systems is set to end 2014
as a record breaker, following continued
strong sales. This was reinforced by a recent
report from Palmer Market Research, that
identified aluminium market share has
grown from 5% to 8% in the last couple
of years.
Jerry Webb, Managing Director at
CDW Systems, comments: “There is no
doubt it has been a very good year for
CDW Systems. It has not been without
its challenges though, as we have had to
recruit new staff and add a second shift on
the factory floor. But to have ended 2014
as strong as we started is pleasing.”
Jerry also added: “The growth of
aluminium can only be a good thing; and
as it started from such a low base there is
much more of the market to go at.
“Our own report into the aluminium
sector earlier this year showed that
domestic growth will continue, as more
and more homeowners go for aluminium
windows and doors.”
