The company, whose key staff boast over 150 combined years of experience, offers bespoke windows to specifiers and installers who seek traditionally styled, timber sliding box sash windows but which come with the latest standards of high performance. Having seen demand grow for real wood windows, the firm now sees the FIT Show as the best shop window to reach its trade target markets, as Marketing Manager Jamie Hackett explained: “We want to talk to a range of potential customers including window installers and specifiers together with architects, developers and small building companies and we know we will meet many of them at the FIT Show. Our customers include designers and builders of new homes right through to those responsible for the most sensitive period renovations,” he said. “The event has proven itself to be the focal point for all of the UK window industry, so that is where we want to be, especially now that so many others in the timber window sector are thinking the same thing.” Cardinal’s heart may be in the tradition of timber but its route to market is right up to date, with online ordering and a window-builder facility complete with instant quote function, all designed to make choosing – and pricing – a timber window as easy and cost-effective as PVCu or aluminium. With pine, sapele or oak products based on German engineering backed by full UK customer support, Cardinal Windows have a U value of 1.5 W/m²K and are available in any RAL colour and with a range of bespoke and hardware options. Jamie Hackett concluded: “Everyone in PVCu and aluminium is shouting about their ‘authentic timber alternatives’ but what they are really doing is emphasising how much people still aspire to having the real thing. More and more homeowners and trade customers are realising this. As a manufacturer, we have the skills and the infrastructure to satisfy this need and, in the FIT Show, we have the vehicle to get that message across.” FIT Show Event Director, Nickie West added: “The footprint of the FIT Show continues to broaden to include all types of fenestration products manufactured in all materials and for all sectors. There’s a real resurgence in genuine timber windows and the interest from the number of companies looking to exhibit is reflecting this. We are very pleased to have Cardinal Windows on board for 2019 and will have a significant portfolio of exhibitors showing timber products when the show opens in May 2019.” 54 » F EB 2018 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M ‘A Solidor is designed to be different from other composite doors’ The Home Visualiser is quick and easy to use and shows homeowners the difference a Solidor can make to their property, helping installers sell more doors. Solidor installers whose customers are also looking for new or replacement windows can benefit from a similar tool on www.residencecollection. with the R9 window designer. The two premium product ranges are often sold together as their quality, security and beautiful designs are well-matched. Solidor is the composite door market leader in design, quality and security. It makes among the most beautiful and the most secure doors on the market thanks to eye- catching designs and a unique laminated-hardwood timber core. A Solidor is designed to be different from other composite doors. That starts with how it’s made. Most use a skin of GRP to protect a soft foam-filled core. But a Solidor has a robust through-colour thermoplastic skin, and a thick, solid laminated hardwood timber core. Having passed Approved Document Q and the new, more demanding PAS24 test, Solidor is leading the market in security, and offers a unique £5,000 5 Star Security guarantee for doors sold with Ultion and Lock Lock. Tests have shown that its solid construction stays secure during the most violent attacks, where other composite doors crumble in seconds.
