CONSERVATORIES MARKET DEMAND STRONG FOR SOLID ROOF »»Synseal has experienced a very positive market response to the launch of the company’s new Celsius Solid Roof, with requests for project quotations surpassing expectations. The key sales arena is undoubtedly retrofit replacement of existing first generation conservatory roofs, which is certainly a growing market segment. The sizeable quantity of installed conservatories across the length and breadth of the UK presents a prime opportunity for upgrading with either high performance insulated roof glass or a modern tiled solid roof. An Energy Follow-Up Survey 2011 report 6: Conservatories, prepared by the BRE in December 2013 on behalf of the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC), identified that approximately 18% of the 21.9 million households in England have a conservatory which equates to around 4 million conservatories. Only 77% of these conservatories have heating and a telling additional statistic from Palmer Market Research is that back in 2004, when new conservatory sales were still at their peak at almost 200,000 installs a year, 75% of those projects featured polycarbonate roof glazing. These factors combine to underpin a tangible market demand for upgrading with a thermally-efficient replacement roof solution. “We knew we were doing the right thing in launching Celsius Solid Roof,” comments Mark Schlotel, Head of Marketing at Synseal, “but the feedback from installers to our new truly warm all-timber solid roof design has been fantastic.” Visit www.synseal.com Enhancing Performance through Staff Training »»Conservatory Outlet is reiterating its full commitment to customers and employees by diversifying its staff development programme in order to ensure a consistently high level of service is being delivered across the business.
