DOORS&WINDOWS
Tailoring perfection
»»Two beautifully designed
£1.2million family homes in the South
Hertfordshire village of Cuffley, were recently
finished using a variety of products from the
frameXpress range.
In the ultra modern kitchen, state of the
art lantern aluminium roofing systems were
installed, as well as the latest aluminium bifolding doors to maximise light entering the
building.
Both luxury properties had identical floor
plans to incorporate high performance, energy
efficient windows and doors which meet
building regulation, and in order to maintain a
traditional external appearance, white astragal
bars were fitted to some of the windows
manufactured.
As one of the UK’s leading trade fabricators,
frameXpress is well established as a supplier
of premium products to the industry with
quality guarantees, Secured by Design and as
standard; first-class safety options.
Ian Davis, Sales Manager at frameXpress,
commented: “A desire for more dynamic,
luxurious designs, combined with everyday use
has seen a flurry of innovation over the last few
years and this continues to provide installers
with substantial opportunities. Our breadth of
choice which caters for this diversity is proving
increasingly popular with customers.”

100% performance from sealant manufacturer
tremco illbruck developed a
solution that is both based
on proven technologies and
which offers flexibility in use
»»As reports by the
Zero Carbon Hub and other
respected bodies have attested,
new homes and non-residential
properties have frequently
failed to achieve their design
performance standards in
practice, with the door or
window openings and other
interfaces being areas of
particular concern.
Specifiers will be reassured to
learn, that as an internationallyrenowned manufacturer of
sealants and other construction

products, tremco illbruck has
responded to the challenge by
developing a solution that is both
based on proven technologies
and which offers flexibility in
use.
tremco illbruck can supply
both expanding weather-strips
and compatible sealants to
counter cold-bridging and
help achieve very low levels of
air leakage in order to meet
PassivHaus or near-to-zero
carbon standards, as well as the
top levels of BREEAM.
Since tremco illbruck launched
its i3 offering at Ecobuild three
years ago - for the installation of
windows within new-build and
refurbished façades - the company
has carried out trials with a
number of respected fabricators,
including Nationwide Windows,
Sidey, Lister Trade Frames and
Passivlux all of which have proved
successful.
