New lamination facility opened
» » HL PLASTICS, THE COMPANY
behind the Liniar brand, has opened its new
state-of-the-art foiling and lamination plant
as part of ongoing expansion plans.
The division was previously located a few
miles away from the rest of the operation at
premises in Somercotes, but a smooth move
to the main site at Denby was completed in
just eight days, with no loss of production
time.
A brand new WPR machine has also been
installed as part of the new set-up in order to
increase the facility’s capacity.
The plant is now located in the former
warehouse building at HL’s Derbyshire
headquarters, which became vacant after
the existing operation moved into the
impressive new 178,000 ft² Liniar House
building, adjacent to the factory and mixing
plant.
“This move makes perfect commercial
sense,” said HL’s Managing Director, Martin
Thurley.
“The new warehouse building allows us to
have most our manufacturing divisions all on
one site. This removes the cost of additional
transport and man hours spent shunting
materials between the two locations and keeps
in line with our philosophy of being efficient
and eco-friendly.
EVERYONE’S GOING GREY!
» » FREEFOAM BUILDING PRODUCTS
are delighted to showcase this recent
installation using their complete range of grey
PVC roofline and cladding products.
The property in Leicestershire originally
featured a render finish to the entire upper
level. It had become patchy and discoloured
needing to be replaced or covered. Likewise,
the white fascia and black guttering were also
in need of updating. The homeowner was
introduced to the Freefoam range by local
supplier Tru Plastics Ltd.
Fitting PVC cladding to the exterior
gave the property an instant facelift. The
homeowner chose Fortex Pro, a Double
Shiplap style board, in
Slate Grey. Adding a
woodgrain foil finish fascia
and soffit in Anthracite
Grey and a gutter system
in the same shade created an
attractive co-ordinated look.
For many years’ white was the only option.
Colour was limited and often had to be
ordered well in advance in large quantities.
Developers, architects and specifiers have seen
the advantages of using colour as a signature
for their building projects. Homeowners,
inspired by property programmes, now
regularly choose colour as they look to
personalise their property and give it the
‘wow’ factor

COLOURFUL LUMI INSTALLATION COMPLETED
» » AS PART OF A RESIDENTIAL
renovation project, Crystal Clear Bristol
recently installed a Lumi composite door with
sidelight all finished in Slate Blue.
“The homeowners wanted to add a modern,
stylish finish to the property on which we
had undertaken a complete window refit, and
the unique Lumi door in Slate Blue was the
perfect finishing touch.” James Mizen, MD of
the Bristol-based home improvement specialist
explains.
Crystal Clear Bristol has been installing
high quality windows, doors an d
conservatories for almost 20 years, and has
been offering Apeer products, including

Apeer70, Modo and Diamond for almost a
decade. After adding the Lumi range, James
believes the products’ unique features make it
popular with homeowners.
The home improvements market is fast
being driven by the homeowners’ modern and
contemporary, design-focussed aspirations.
Historically there has always been a gap
between the homeowners’ desire to create their
own designs and products that fit the brief,
and so when Apeer successfully launched the
ground-breaking Lumi System in 2015, it was
met by widespread acclaim. Lumi features
‘edge-to-edge’ energy efficient triple glazing
that is structurally bonded to a core of high
strength, glass reinforced profiles.
