The uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the Brexit talks is , understandably , impacting on consumer spending as more people hold off borrowing – given rising inflation and wages in the doldrums .

UNCERTAINTY IS NEVER A GOOD things and that is what the UK has been facing for a considerable time . It is difficult to have confidence and make plans for the future with so many unknowns in the pipeline .
But in the meantime , this industry continues to pursue innovation and raise the bar on quality and choice . We may face a hard slog in some respects but people will respond if the products are right – and , as the FIT Show this year undeniably proved , the products are outstanding with every box ticked .
It is important to remain optimistic as we go forward – confidence is the key as is amply demonstrated in our pages every month .
WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES
Congratulations to the GGF for its place in the finals in no less than three categories in the Trade Association Forum Awards . So much hard work goes on behind the scenes at the Association to raise the profile of the industry and ensure that both government and consumers are kept aware of the most important issues .
Congratulations too , to the winner of our Installation of the Month Award , Fenster Fabrications for some outstanding work on a fabulous development in Plymouth – a worthy winner and delighted home owners .
