A Clever Design

being given by Essex based
aluminium fabricator, Duration
Windows for its new Emperor
concealed aluminium bi-folding
door system.
The doors have been skilfully
designed by experts and
manufactured to conceal the
doors hinges internally within
the profile, giving the end
user a bi-folding door system
which is not only aesthetically
pleasing to the eye, but remains
unobtrusive for all hardware
except the doors handle.
Grant Chelton, managing
director of Duration Windows
comments: “We introduced the
Emperor concealed aluminium
bi-folding door system to our
product portfolio last year after
working on the development
of our existing bi-fold range.
The market wanted cleaner
sightlines, a more contemporary
look and feel, where bifolding and patio doors were
concerned.
“The UK patented hinge is
exclusive to Duration Windows
and its uniqueness of design has
enabled us to offer a bi-folding
door system which continues
to perform in every way the
same as its rival bi-folding
systems, but offering a more
sophisticated appearance.”
The door system also allows
for a 90% clear opening and

with the inclusion of a specially
designed recessed handle the
door panels stack tightly when
open.
Being manufactured from
Duration’s own aluminium
profile system, the doors offer
low maintenance and contain a
polyamide thermal break to give
excellent thermal performance.

intend to launch the new
Emperor system: “With our
showroom being based in Essex,
it is not totally accessible to
all our customers, and this is a
product that needs to be seen
