It may be a dilemma for many companies, One to Watch REHAU has produced a new version of its user friendly ‘Docs’ app which allows fabricators and installers to access product and technical information on their mobiles and tablets. »»THE APP, WHICH IS AVAILABLE to download from the App store simply by searching for ‘REHAU docs’, allows users to create their own virtual library of REHAU trade brochures and consumer and specification guides which they can access instantly at any time. Fabricators and installers can personalise their library simply by tapping the relevant tab within the app to select their area of interest, and then choosing windows, doors and glazing systems from REHAU’s many product areas. Within each of the product areas, there is a newsstand style selection pane to view all of the available downloadable material and a favourites button to easily store and access the information used most often. C O M but not for CJR Glass & Glazing, the Southampton-based company decided on a strategic plan to do both and now, with the help of trade fabricator Glazerite Windows Ltd, the strategy is paying dividends. CJR is still manufacturing white casements and French doors but now turns to Glazerite for all other coloured foils and window styles, including vertical sliders and Residence 9, as well as composite doors and bi-folds. Founder, Clive Ret, explained: “I didn’t want to get out of fabricating altogether. We get a lot of council emergency work, such as break-ins, so I can still make and install a white window or door in 24 hours but, at the same time, offer customers a wider range than ever.” Glazerite Director, Jason Thompson, said: “We’ve encouraged many small fabricatorinstallers to shut the factory and concentrate on what they do best – selling and installing.
