DOORS&WINDOWS
Luxurious look
for minimum effort
»»INITIALLY FOUNDED IN 1962 AS A
cabinet maker, Decora Mouldings has evolved
its products to develop a whole realm of
new markets, one of which started 10 years
ago servicing the window, conservatory and
orangery markets.
Decora is visiting this year’s FIT Show with
its product range, and is looking to build up
a network of distributors; through offering
fabricators, installers and retail outlets the
opportunity to promote its new range of
exclusively designed and patented ‘Topsill’
product.
Clearview talked to Decora’s director
Anthony Jenner, to discuss the DecSTONE™
collection of stone effect internal window cills
and skirting, made from a unique composite,
and the new addition to the range ‘Topsill’.
With a comprehensive range of colours and
textures and a 10 year performance guarantee,
the DecSTONE™ range offers the homeowner
the finishing detail needed to complete a
beautifully styled conservatory or orangery.
The range of internal window cills and
skirting are made with high-strength particle
board set within the composite, are moistureresistant and incredibly easy to fit, using just
normal wood working tools.
Anthony commented: “Our business,
supplying to the window fabricator and
installer market, has developed through our
experience of manufacturing composite
mouldings for other luxury interiors.
“The detail of our moulding process is so
good that it is difficult for even an expert to
tell the different between the copies and the
real thing. This intricacy used to develop and
produce our other ranges has been transferred
to build up our stunning range of
DecSTONE™ products, and our
latest ‘Topsill’ cladding system.
“Primarily, our DecSTONE™
products will harmonise the style
and look of a conservatory or
orangery and with the luxurious
range of eight different colours
and three texture styles, the
products are perfect for both first or
retro-fitting and give the customer a
total new look and feel from standard
white PVC cills, with a genuine stone effect.
“Fitting the cills is normally done by the
regular installer, using basic wood working
tools to cut and fit on site, and unlike other
window cills, DecSTONE™ does not have the
need to use plastic spacers or end caps, and
instead uses neat grouted joints and finished
ends to add to authenticity. The homeowners
love this!
“Our new Topsill range has been created to
offer installers, builders and general DIYers
the opportunity to cover internally damaged
cills by cladding over the top for a perfect
authentic upgrade without the mess or hassle
of ripping out the old and replacing.
“Not having to maintain the cills can
be a great selling benefit for the end-user,
with the minimum of effort to keep clean;
homeowners can simply use soapy water to
wipe down and clean, with no painting or
finishing needed.” Anthony adds.
Decora Moulding will be exhibiting the
full range of DecSTONE™ at this year’s FIT
Show. Topsill will be showcased as a one of the
company’s main core products and fabricators
and installers will be able to talk through the
newly launched product with the businesses
team of experts.
“We believe that the ‘Topsill’ can add a
definite benefit to businesses who offer more
than just a PVCu window or door. With
extremely good margins to be obtained by
fitting both DecSTONE™ or Topsill installers
will find it easy to offer their customers a
conservatory, orangery or window installation
with a high-value look.
“We are inviting all installers to visit the
stand and look at the benefits of fitting the
range from Decora. Our product literature
is tailored to attracting the end-user and
explains the benefits to how they could create
a unique and stylish look to their homes by
replacing their current cills, regardless to
whether they need their windows replaced;
giving installers an opportunity to up-sell.”
Anthony adds.
