THE FLEXIBLE

Loggia installations are appearing all
over the country since the launch
of the market-changing system
last year. Homeowners are loving
its flexible design capability and
incredible thermal performance
and installers are equally finding its
ease of installation a huge benefit.
We caught up with one of the
latest Loggia installations in
Sutton Coldfield, designed
and delivered by Cherwell
Windows.
Homeowner and hotelier Mr
Kalavanas explains, “Like most
modern families we spend most
of our time in the kitchen and
when we come home from work
and the children come home
from school it’s lovely to all
gather in the kitchen and talk
about the day’s events. With
this in mind we decided to look
into an extension. From the
minute we saw the Loggia we
knew it would be perfect for us
and it would allow us to open
up the kitchen, creating the
large, open family living space
we were hoping to achieve.
The aesthetics of Loggia and
the different colour options
available were all winning
features for us, it is a truly
brilliant design. The options
were endless when it came to
designing our Loggia, from the

doors, windows, glass, bespoke
colour, size, interior lighting etc.
make it totally unique.”
Looking at the design and
installation as a whole, Ryan
Breslin from Cherwell Windows
commented, “We configured
the design to suit the Kalavanas’s
needs for an open plan space
and because Loggia is so unique
in terms of its flexibility we were
able to add in exit routes to the
side and front, bespoke windows
and a full solar efficient, selfcleaning glass roof. The Loggia
has a real contemporary feel to
it with its clean lines and has
opened up the entire property.
It was a very efficient process
and not taking into account the
preparation and ground works,
the frame was up and water
tight in a week. Loggia is a really
cost effective way of achieving
an orangery style feel.”
Mr Kalavanas concludes, “We
love it so much and it feels like
a proper room, we couldn’t be
happier.”
