INSTALLERSUPPORT K2’S NEW DIRECTORY HELPS INSTALLERS ON THE WEB The K2 Conservatories website features a new online Directory function designed to enable UK homeowners to search by postcode and quickly find K2 product installers operating in their local area. Homeowners can select a search radius of 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 miles distance from their home address location to find K2 suppliers across a range of product categories including new conservatory roofs, replacement conservatory roofs, DIY kit conservatories, lantern roofs, Celsius performance glass, orangeries, the Capella hybrid orangery and K2 roof spare parts. 100 installers have already registered on the new K2 Directory and Synseal would like to double that number to 200 in time for this year’s fine weather installation season. Verified purchasers who directly retail to UK homeowners can also apply for K2 Registered Installer status to gain additional sales leads from the Synseal Homeowner website. K2 Marketing Manager, Anne-Marie Busch says: “Consumers search online to find capable tradesmen and our K2 website attracts thousands of visitors. I’d encourage all experienced K2 roof and orangery installers to email [email protected] and we will ensure their business contact details are uploaded onto the online Directory without delay.” Deceuninck launches InstallerPro Deceuninck has launched InstallerPro, a new service that gives installers an efficient and cost effective way to prove their compliance with mandatory regulations. It’s another way that Deceuninck helps fabricators and installers sell, by providing evidence of installer competence that reassures homeowners making important financial decisions about their home. Roy Frost, Deceuninck UK MD explains: “The scheme provides support to fabricators and installers to address CE Marking, WERs, forthcoming changes including Minimum Technical Competency (MTC) and also mandatory Insurance Backed Guarantees that both start in June 2014. It’s important that fabricators and installers are ready so they don’t lose out. “We’ve also created a distinct logo for InstallerPro. The brand stands for trust and reassurance, embodying the qualities that homeowners value from their chosen installer. “InstallerPro is easy for Deceuninck fabricators and installers to access. The service provided through our partners, Certass includes a dedicated microsite where installers can register jobs and self-certify installer competence. It also covers mandatory insurance backed guarantees as well as WERs, Thermal Ratings Register (TRR) and CE Marking for microenterprises with 10 employees or less and a turnover of up to £2millon.” ‘trust and reassurance’ www.AskRoyFrost.com CPA MANUAL WILL HELP INSTALLERS MEET EVOLVING CONSUMER DEMANDS The Consumer Protection Association (CPA) has published a document called ‘Why are the legalities important?’ from which installers can find out how they can use legislation changes; legal frameworks and insurance backed guarantees to boost sales within their business. The manual can be downloaded from the CPA’s website. Jeremy Brett, who is a Director at the 78 MAY 2014 organisation, comments: “The legalities do matter- whether it is terms and conditions to protect an installer’s business, insurancebacked guarantees and deposit protection that are crucial to winning profitable new business; or changes around consumer legislation and the industry – we can help. “And this guide is a starting point for a number of these issues. Busy installers don’t often have time to find out all of this information – that’s our job. We’re here to offer support and knowledge so installers can concentrate on growing their business.” At the start of 2014 the CPA also launched ‘Fast Track’ – a growth acceleration tool that packages the CPA’s 22 years of experience to help home improvement companies grow. The ‘why are the legalities document’ is part of the ‘Fast Track’ initiative. Call 01462 850062 for more. To read more, visit www.clearview-uk.com
