FENSA SAYS 2013 ENDS ON A
HIGH FOR INSTALLATIONS
2013 saw the first year on year growth in notifications of installation of replacement
windows and doors in domestic properties since 2007 - up 4.5% on 2012, says FENSA.
December ended the year on a high with
notifications up 25% on December 2012.
The last quarter of the year was up 5.7% on
the same period last year after a flat October
(+0.5%) and decline in November (-3.3%).
This was the third consecutive quarter of
growth - the first time this has been achieved
since FENSA began collating installation
numbers. However, the total number of
installations for 2013 was 702,495 - still down
27% on the figure for 2007.
‘Increased installations’
Eight months saw increased installations in
2013 over the same month in the previous
year compared to just four in 2012. FENSA is
reporting on the total number of notifications
of installations of replacement windows and
doors in domestic properties in 2013. FENSA
will continue to publish quarterly figures during
2014.
92.5% of all window installations are covered
by FENSA according to DCLG (glazing CPS
notifications to March 2012).
