HARDWARE&SECURITY
BESPOKE HARDWARE SOLUTION
From Kenrick & Winlock.
Kenrick has teamed up with
Winlock to deliver a bespoke
hardware solution for Comar
Architectural Aluminium
Systems.
Winlock has been working
alongside Kenrick for four years,
during which Kenrick has supplied
an exclusive range of high security
locking systems to the Shropshirebased hardware manufacturer and
distributor. Now the two have
joined forces to create a shootbolt
espagnolette striker system for
Comar - a longstanding Winlock
customer. The system is designed to
improve performance, reduce cost
and speed up fabrication times.
The tailor-made one piece diecast zinc striker accommodates
both a mushroom cam and a
shootbolt. Based on Kenrick’s
Fastfit shootbolt system, it is
available in two versions - the
standard Centurion system and
the extra secure Excalibur solution
with a centre gearbox, which also
benefits from separate mushroom
cam strikers and special centre
keeps.
The keeps have been made in two
different profile-related versions to
perform on both the Comar 5P.i.
60mm energy efficient system and
Comar 5P.i Eco 55mm and 75mm
casement systems. With a night
vent facility the strikers have been
tested to PAS 24:2012 to meet
SBD requirements.

Trojan Group’s answer
to TGQ weight myth
Triple glazing is attracting more
attention, but Tony Chadwick
of the Trojan Group, one of
the exhibitors at TGQ, says
the myths that surround it are
preventing many people from
harnessing its business benefits
– myths such as the need for
specialist hardware to cope with
extra weight.
“A typical 1,000mm x 1,000mm
window glazed with two 4mm
panes will weigh 20kg and you’d
use a GP hinge with a weight
capacity of around 24kg. A
1,000mm x 1,000mm triple
glazed window will weigh 30kg,
so the GP hinge won’t be suitable.
But you don’t need to source a
specialist hinge: our Mega Egress
hinge can carry up to 40kg, more
than sufficient for the additional
weight.”
Mega Egress is triple glazingready, offers full 90 degree opening,
meeting egress compliance
requirements, its design solves
the gasket compression problems
normally associated with egress
hinges. It doesn’t fall open at the
top, gives a much clearer opening
than any other friction hinge
and, because it doesn’t use the
traditional scissor action to close,
is safer to use than other hinges on
the market – a genuinely versatile
hardware product.

Sash UK and Trojan celebrate
a successful partnership
There’s nothing quite like the security of
working with a company which shares the
same ethos and operates in a similar way,
which is why Sash UK, with its longstanding tradition of craftsmanship and
quality is applauding its excellent working
relationship with the Trojan Group.
Already in successful partnership for their
largest customer’s specification, Sash UK
thought it made good business sense to
expand their relationship with Trojan when in
2010 their need for a new furniture supplier
arose.
